Please allow me to introduce myself, and give a brief history of my life with plants. My name is Colin Clayton, the second son of a hard-working Market Gardener. I grew up with a love of horticulture, growing plants of all descriptions, and followed my Father into his Market Garden. We were very successful following the culinary needs of each ethnic population group as they emigrated to Australia. As a side-line, I always grew ornamental plants, once again I followed the trends, growing what was popular at the time.
Upon my Father’s retirement I purchased the property in Dingley from him, and started the famous Dingley Fern Market, later to be known as Dingley Home and Garden. After 20 years of successful operation this was closed, and I sold the land for housing subdivision. I then purchased 15 acres of land in Keysborough to semi-retire on. With the help of 5 employees I am growing Carnivorous Plants for the wholesale and export, mainly to Japan.
During the course of setting up my new Nursery, I had the good fortune to come into contact with Mr. Jim Fah from Autopot Systems. Mr. Fah, or Jim as he likes to be known, has been able to set up the most hytec, cost efficient, growing system I have ever seen. I have travelled to America 15 times and Holland and Europe 4 times studying growing systems, so I know what I am talking about.
Nothing has been too much trouble for Jim as he has guided me through the very simple procedures that make his system work. The healthy plants and growth rate produced, with a minimum of water, fertilizer, pesticides and fungicides, has been far beyond anything I have ever experienced in all my years of growing plants. So, if you have any queries about this system don’t hesitate to contact me.
