| Outdoor Growing 15.7.2007 - Our new outdoor display area was set up to demonstrate that Autopot Systems can be just as effective for growing vegies and herbs outdoors during winter. In this case, it is better to use potting mix as the growing medium. |

Saturday - 20th Jan 2007 Hobby Greenhouse 8ftx12ft We managed to put in two rows of crops. On the left Pepino (pruned to single stem) and on the right tomato plants. The plants were fed by gravity from the two 30-litre tanks. |

Thursday, 11th January 2007 Cherry Tomato - These cherry tomatoes were grown over a wire mesh under a clear roof cover (sort of an open sided greenhouse). We prune away all laterals to maintain a single stem and all the leaves below the last mature bunch were also removed. |
|
Saturday - 20th January 2007 Mini Water Melon - We have the water melon grown in the same enclosed greenhouse as the Pepino shown below. Note the Hydrotray double pot units being mounted high close to the wire mesh. |

Thursday, 29th June 2006 Babaco - Carica pentagona - Babaco is a close relative of tropical papaya. However, its fruits taste no where like a papaya. It has its own unique sweet and sour taste. - Here, we have three plants grown in a large 200-litre tub irrigated with an Autopot Smart-dripper. They are now three years from planting and have been yielding extremely well in Melbourne. Under normal irrigation, at best you can get one plant per tub. |
|
Thursday, 11th January 2007 Pepino - We grow pepino year round in an enclosed greenhouse. As shown here, the vine was trained to creep over the wire mesh and the fruits were well exposed. |

Tuesday, 4 April 2006 Rebeckia/Lobellia in Autopot Window boxes - Gardenworld Cafe - same spot as seen in the picture below. - window boxes filled with Rebeckia and Lobellia mix last winter. |
|
Saturday, 27 May 2006 Tuberous begonia in window boxes - Illumination series - picture taken a couple of days ago. The plants were grown in 6 inch pots and four pots to a unit of Autopot window box. - the plants are still thriving at this time of the year despite the cold weather. We reckon it has a lot to do with the plant driven concept of watering our plants based on the Autopot technology. |

Tuesday, 4 April 2006 Aerial Cucumbers - overcoming low light levels - this picture shows cucumbers growing in Autopot window boxes mounted right at the roof level. This was done to overcome the low light level inside this greenhouse due to the proximity of the neighbouring buildings which blocked away most of the sunlight during early morning and late afternoon. - by having the plants growing close to the roof we have overcome the constraints of low light levels at bench level |
|
Tuesday, 4 April 2006 Cherry Tomatoes - in Autopot Systems - this is an impressive display of tomatoes at our GardenSmart retail outlet at Braeside, Melbourne, Vic. - these are grown in our 6M x 4M heated greenhouse year round. |

Monday, 19th March 2006 Tuberous begonia - illumination series - picture shows a row of Autopot window boxes with tuberous begonia in full bloom. We have several traditional begonia growers telling us that these plants do not like "wet feet" and hence would not do well in the Autopot Systems. We have proven them wrong and very wrong. Just look at how good the plants are. - We believed it is the "Plant-driven" watering concept of the Autopot Systems that makes the plants do so well |
|
Sunday, 26 March 2006 Spagethi Melon - at the moment this plant has just came into bearing. The seedlings were planted in a 50 litre pot irrigated with an Autopot Smart-dripper. The pot is set just below a large palm tree. - the plant now has extended to well over 10M. - here we are able to grow a plant under a huge tree free from its root encroachment and nutrient/water poaching. This is main problem with conventional planting under large trees. |
